Chambray and Aztec

I've said this before, and I'll say it again- chambray shirts are by far the most versatile piece of clothing, in my opinion! I've worn this shirt in particular so many ways, and I'm still not sick of it. Here I've paired it with my favorite pencil skirt, and metallic heels, for work. The shirt helps dress the shoes down, and mute the pattern on the skirt, which makes this look actually quite neutral.

Week//Daze

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm not going to lie, but the past two weeks have been extremely exhausting. By the time 5 pm hit last Friday, my eye lids were already heavy as anchors. Work has been tough, but also very rewarding, so I know I probably shouldn't complain. The outfit below is something I wore last week, as I was dressing in a rush, since the snooze button was hit a few too many times. The giant cozy sweater made me feel as though I was still at home, even while at my desk.

Trend-Spotting: Tropical Bombers

Trend-Spotting: Tropical Bombers

I've been noticing a lot of late 80's early 90's fashions influencing trends as of late. Mainly, I've been seeing a lot of tropical prints; think palm leaves, floral, etc. I really like the idea of wearing a loud bomber over a simple tee and jeans, with sneakers on a casual evening. To make the look more modern, pay attention to fit, wear with slim dark denim, and keep your make-up fresh!

Back To Basics

When it comes to wearing the very, very basic pieces in your closet, you have to make sure it fits. A tee and jeans can go from chic to frumpy if the fit is off. Below I am wearing a tee and jeans that I accessorized with a necklace, belt, and heels. This is something I would wear to the office on Friday, so it can easily transition to happy hour and beyond! It's so simple, but I think still very fashionable.

Pinsperation

I love using Pinterest as a source of inspiration. I've unfortunately found too much, and have lost all hope of organization. Lately though, I've been finding myself pinning the same two outfit formulas over and over; navy blazer + black jeans + white tee, or some sort of masculine denim look. I've rounded up some favorites here, and don't be surprised when you see me copy these looks ;)

Fresh

Hey everyone! Here is a simple weekend look I've recently worn. I think chambray and white color combo is so fresh and clean, I can't help but mix the two together.

The Spring Trench Coat

I've been wanting a light weight, navy, vintage style trench coat to add to my wardrobe ever since I saw Kristen Dunst wearing this outfit. She looked so chic wearing it as a dress, and I was so inspired. I finally found the perfect one for me, and I'm so glad to say it's vintage, too! Nothing beats a true classic! While I didn't style it as a dress, like Kristen Dunst, this time around, it's still the perfect layer to throw over a striped tee and jeans, with some fun heels. I felt very parisian ;)
